Enhanced Capital Allowances ( ECA’s )

The government in association with the Carbon Trust operate a scheme for business; Enhanced Capital Allowances ( ECAs )for energy - saving and water efficient ( environmentally beneficial ) technologies.

The ECA’s scheme allows business investing in designated technologies that reduce energy consumption, to write off 100% of the cost against the taxable profits of the period during which the investment was made.

Lighting products can qualify for an ECA if they meet the technical criteria detailed in the technology list.

Your ECA claim will be submitted as part of your business’s corporate or income tax claim by your accounts department.
